Data CollectionWhen a teacher signs up, we collect their title, first name, last name, email, username, password, the name visible to their students, default language and whether or not they want to subscribe to our newsletter. All passwords are hashed before they are stored in the database. We do not have access to a teacher’s original password, and cannot obtain it from the hashed version that we receive. Teachers can also add purchases to their account and create questions and word lists. We track when certain actions are performed on the website such as adding a product or accessing a particular website feature. We collect this information to track down technical issues, aid with teacher inquiries and support or improve overall user experience. We collect network traffic data to help us troubleshoot, optimize and protect against attacks or network misconfigurations. This data includes, but is not limited to, pages accessed, time, browser and OS type, and IP address. Teachers can choose to add their students’ names and groups (learning groups or classes). Students can play games via a link provided by the treacher or by the teacher going into the student view. Students do not have their own accounts and cannot create accounts. All activity on the website cannot be linked to any one particular student, all activity is tracked under the teacher’s account.
Deleting AccountsTo delete your account and its associated saved games, students and groups, and purchases please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Questions and word lists entered by a user can also be deleted, however a user can make questions and word lists public and share them with others users. Once shared, each user will then have their own copy of questions or word lists. This copy then becomes part of another user’s data which can only be deleted upon their request. Questions and word lists are also subject to our Terms of Service.
